Starting with the April 2011 printing, copies of the book The Essential Guide to Irish Flute and Tin Whistle differ in small ways from copies printed earlier.

• These changes were not substantial enough to constitute a second edition of the book.
• However, important corrections have been made to the fingering charts on pp. 452, 454 and 455, and new material on William "Billy" Cummins appears on p. 372.
• Replacement copies of the book are not being offered.
• The pagination of the book has not changed.

To determine which version of the book you have:

• Look on the first page.
• Below the Mel Bay logo, you will see a series of numbers.

If you see:

3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 (starting with 3)

you already have one of the new copies (April 2011 revision or later).

If your book is from an earlier printing (before April 2011), you will see one of the following series of numbers (starting with either 1 or 2):

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0

or

2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0
