This CD contains recordings of songs #100-112 and # 115-120 as they appear in the current 2005 edition of The Lotus Dickey Songbook. Songs #113 and 114 are not included due to copyright issues.

This CD is the fifth in a set of five CDs, which together form the complete audio companion to The Lotus Dickey Songbook. The complete set of five CDs is also available for the discount price of $59.95 ($5.00 off the price of buying all five individually).

The songbook itself comes with one sampler CD. That disc contains 23 songs, chosen to give a representative sampling from the 120 songs in the book. However, to have recordings of all of the songs in the book, one must buy the set of five companion Lotus Dickey Songbook Companion CDs, or buy MP3 downloads of individual songs at the MP3 section of this site.

The songs on The Lotus Dickey Songbook Companion CD Five are all folk songs: Farewell My Lilly Dear, Nicodemus, Adadine, Somewhere Somebody's Waiting for You, Pearl Bryan Version 1, Pearl Bryan Version 2, Pearl Bryan Version 3, The Flower of Italy, The Merchant's Fair Daughter, The Valiant Soldier, The Drunkard's Dream Version 1, The Drunkard's Dream Version 2, Columbus Stockade, The Swapping Song, Annie Laurie, One More River to Cross, Little Green Valley, Barbara Allen, Little Mohee Version 1, Little Mohee Version 2, Missouri Waltz, Scotch Lassie Jean, and Keep on the Sunny Side.

The songs are taken almost entirely from field and home recordings of Lotus Dickey by himself, singing and playing guitar. While some of these same songs appear on the Lotus Dickey CD The Pride of Glencoe, that CD's tracks are all studio recordings, and are quite different from the renditions found on The Lotus Dickey Songbook Companion CD Five.
